The Ministries of St. Catherine's
The many ministries of St. Catherine's are organized under the five types (or commissions) outlined for us by St. Paul in Ephesians. We pray that each member of our parish will find the special ministry that he or she is called to do. The commissions generally meet on Wednesday evenings.
Evangelism Commission
The Evangelism Commission plans, develops, implements, and evaluates ministries to bring new people to St. Catherine's. We then actively encourage their becoming involved in Parish programs to the extent they wish to do so. To these ends, we plan, coordinate, and secure space in local advertising media; sponsor functions such as our twice-a-year Newcomers' Receptions and our participation in the annual Temple Terrace Fourth of July Parade.
Through our Hospitality Program, parishioners designated as "Greeters" make sure newcomers feel welcome, and introduce them to leaders of programs in which they are interested. One of the most enjoyable ways for newcomers to become involved in the life of the Parish is to serve as a Greeter, and we have a continuing need for people to do so. Please contact Pam Schultz if you are interested.
Participation in the activities of the Evangelism Commission is open to all. Meetings are held at the Church at 6:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Denise Montgomery is the Vestry Liaison. If you are interested, please contact Pam Schultz or Libbett Jenkins, who co-chair the Commission.
