St. Catherine's Pastoral Care Commission

S.W.E.E.P.
The Ministries of St. Catherine's

The many ministries of St. Catherine's are organized under the five types (or commissions) outlined for us by St. Paul in Ephesians. We pray that each member of our parish will find the special ministry that he or she is called to do. The commissions generally meet on Wednesday evenings.

Pastoral Care Commission
(Parish Life)

The Pastoral Care Commission focuses on fellowship and loving care for all parishoners. They plan parish events and also coordinates assistance for parishioners who are in a crisis situation. The Commission meets on the first Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 PM. Membership is open to all. Joan Kaywell is the Vestry Liaison for the Commission and Candy Brandt is the Commission Chair.

Among the many activities sponsored by the Commission are receptions for special occasions and seasonal parties. Additional ministries of the Pastoral Care Commision are listed below. If you are interested in participating in any of these activities, please contact the indicated people.

Brotherhood of Loaves & Fishes
(Frank Johnson)

The Brotherhood cooks a wonderful breakfast for the congregation on Sunday mornings, after the 10 o'clock service. This provides us with time for food and fellowship, after church each week. Occasionally, the Brotherhood provides other meals for special events.

Nursery

Child care is provided in the nursery, on Sunday mornings, for children up to the age of 3 years. After the age of 3, children may attend Church School classes and then go to church with their parents.

Ladies' Night Out

Women of the church meet monthly for fellowship and dinner at various local restaurants. Watch for announcements of time and place, in the weekly bulletin.

Prayer Hotline
(Robert Mace)

People in the Parish volunteer to pray for people's special needs. If you have a special need, you can contact Robert(through the church office), and he will start the telephone prayer chain. In addition, there is a prayer page at this web site. You are invited to go to the Prayer Request page and to pray for the people listed, as well as to contact your Web Servant, with your own prayer requests.

Supper Club
(Candy Brandt)

Supper Clubs meet on a monthly basis in people's home for dinner and fellowship. The host usually provides the meat, and other participants provide the rest of the meal. While the groups are organized in the fall, there is always room for additional people to join. This is an excellent way to get to know people in the church.
