Alleluia!  Christ is Risen!

Dear people of St. Catherine’s,

It was a powerful Lent and Holy week here, and what a glorious celebration we had with our three Easter services!  Thank you to all who helped to make the liturgies beautiful – to our organist, Linda, to our choir, for doing the Easter marathon, to all the acolytes and the altar guild and the lay readers and chalice bearers and ushers ( special thanks to those who did double/triple duty!! ) and to all who attended.  Thank you to Parish Life and Vestry and Choir for a scrumptious Easter feast!  Thank you to Rachel and all who helped with the Easter Egg Hunt and the Flowering of the Cross.  Thank you to Frank Johnson who made our Easter flower cross!

We are also in transition in our office staff. As of April 29th, Brenda Menendez is now working as Financial Secretary on an hourly, part time basis.  We will soon be looking for a parish administrator to do everything but finances, and will be finalizing that job description soon.  In the meantime, know that the office will be open fewer hours, with a few volunteers helping out.  As always, in a pastoral emergency, call my cell 304 -926-4554 or Fr. Allen+ at 716-400-7593.  If it is a building emergency, please call Rick Schultz, our Jr. Warden, at 813-598-3289.  Other issues – please call Sr. Warden Manon Alewynse at 813-507-1334.  Please be aware that both Rick and Manon work during the day and may not be able to return calls until late afternoon.

The Season of Easter is The Great 50 Days.  During this Holy time we are invited to look around us for the new life that is always arising, and to keep our hearts open for the love of the Risen Christ to flow through us into the world.  Know that new life ALWAYS comes out of death.  Jesus Christ changed the very fabric of Creation, and the whole Creation has been made new.

Easter Joy and Blessings to you!

In Christ,

Mother Susan+
